The Centre culturel franco-manitobain launched their magnificent “Le Patio 340” a few years ago. It is a wonderful outdoor space for music and entertainment. Ministers of Cool members Laurent Roy and Leonard Shaw, Donny Benedictson and Daniel Roy are preparing some exciting music for a summer party at the Patio 340 Tuesday July 25th. Along with guest artists Erin Propp and Karly Epp and a three-piece horn section, this nine-piece band is sure to provide a great evening of fun and dance.
The Ministers of Cool have long been a cornerstone RnB ensemble in Winnipeg since it’s inception in 2002 with Greg Lowe on guitar and Gerry Atwell on keys. Leonard Shaw is a premier blues/RnB singer/piano player, having toured with the Guess Who since the early nineties. Laurent Roy is known for his jazz guitar but the Ministers allow to him to revisit his pop/RnB roots with some ripping guitar. Bass player Don Benedictson is a veteran of the Winnipeg music scene and has toured and recorded with multiple artists all over the world. Daniel Roy is one of the busiest and most dynamic drummers in Canada. Erin and Karly will be our featured vocalists and also add bg’s and percussion on the majority of the material. We are also bringing Niall Cade, Richard Gillis, and James Oullet on board as our powerhouse horn section.
